When to Use ACT!

ACT! is a Contact and Customer Manager. It does not have marketing automation, customer service & resource scheduling module. So, ACT! is the ideal application for the following functions:

  • Sales Management Focus – When you only need Sales Pipeline Management and Forecasting
  • Contact and Communications Management Focus – When you want to focus on all communications planning and history for contacts, companies, and groups
  • Limited Computer Resources – ACT! requires that you have your own computer or server on which to install ACT!
  • Single User or 5 Users or Less – ACT! can be used by single users on a laptop or by 5 or less users on a pier to pier network. ACT! Premium can be used by 50 users or more.
  • Limited Budget for License Purchases – ACT! licenses can be purchased for as little as $130.00 per license. ACT! Premium licenses can be purchased for about $400.00. Volume discounts are available.

Key ACT! Features and Functionality

ACT! Standard and Premium allows you to do the following contact and customer management functions:

  • Automated data entry using importing, data duplication, ListGrabber, and Business Card Scanners as well as PDA Handheld devices.
  • Track, view, and access customer and prospect information in a central place including contact information, e-mail messages, phone calls, appointments, notes, and documents both planned and history.

When to Use Microsoft CRM 4.0

Microsoft CRM 4.0 does almost everything that ACT! does plus its has robust Marketing Automation and Customer Service & Resource Scheduling Automation Modules. It has a 360 view of the customer from marketing campaign design, cost tracking, and execution to raw lead response tracking to sales process management to customer contract & case management to resource scheduling.

 
CRM 4.0 should be used when you have the following needs:
